ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE
PERSPECTIVE in art is a system by which three-dimensional space can be convincingly portrayed on a two-dimensional surface. Linear perspective applies to the way objects optically appear to grow smaller as they recede into the distance. Perspective was perfected during the Italian Renaissance by Leonardo DaVinci.
Students will create a landscape drawing of an urban street using 1 point perspective; they will add details such as awnings, street signs, sidewalks, store windows and doors, etc. Finally, they will use color to complete their compositions.

After drawing a popular image from our current culture, the students will transfer their images to a printing plate, they will print the plate and pull the prints. This project requires 4 prints that will be displayed in the manner of Andy Warhol. Once a plate has been created it is possible to make many more prints than the 4 required for the project.
